Nestled along the northern boundary of Tsavo East National Park, the Kamungi Banda is a simple, self-catering eco-tourism retreat located within the Kamungi Conservancy. Perfect as a stopover between Nairobi and Mombasa or for guests looking to explore Tsavo, this rustic but comfortable facility offers a deeply meaningful stay — with all proceeds supporting local conservation and community development.


Accommodation & Facilities

Kamungi Banda sleeps up to 12 guests in four en-suite bedrooms, each with a double and single bed. The shared central area includes:
1. A fully equipped kitchen (fridge, freezer, gas cooker & oven, crockery for 12)
2. A dining and seating area with bar
3. Solar power for charging devices
4. Wi-Fi access
5. Flushing toilets & hot showers
6. Borehole water for cleaning and cooking

Guests enjoy self-catering convenience with a skilled cook on hand. Bring your own food, drinks, and cleaning supplies – and feel free to share your favourite recipes!


Location & Getting There

Situated just 2km from Tsavo East’s Triangle Gate, and a 20-minute drive from Mtito Andei, Kamungi Banda is easily accessible from the Nairobi–Mombasa highway. The surrounding conservancy is home to elephants, zebra, kudu, and over 100 bird species.


Rates & Booking

• KES 20,000 per night (up to 4 guests, VAT inclusive))
• KES 5,000 per additional person, including children aged 7+
• Children under 6 stay free
• Exclusive bookings only – your group has the entire facility to yourselves.
