The Tana Delta Camp
|
Totally unspoilt, Tana Delta Camp gives a taste of wilderness right
on the Indian Ocean. The Tana Delta region is internationally recognized
as one of Kenya's most important wetland areas; the Camp owners are deeply
involved in the conservation of this unique, tidal ecosystem.
This unique camp is situated by the mouth of the mighty Tana River,
north of Malindi Town, on the curve of a 30-mile beach with the huge sand
dunes marking the edge of Unguana Bay. With the Tana River on one side of the
Camp, and the Indian Ocean on the other side, who could ask for anything more?
|
|
Tana Delta Camp has something for everyone, from beachcombing expeditions in
the morning to photo-stalking buffalo in the afternoon and world-class bird watching
boat trips down the maze of the delta channels to spot the seven rare species
of bird only found in this area. The camp combines coastal dune-top pagodas and
safari bush tents.

The lower mess overlooks the estuary for breakfast and cozy evenings, while
lunches and lazy afternoons are spent in the top pagoda, enjoying panoramic 360-degree
views over the delta and the ocean.

The kitchen harvests from the sea with fresh fish, crab and prawns served daily,
complemented by the freshest vegetables and tropical fruit.
Truly unique, Tana Delta Camp is a place where the African Bush meets the Indian
Ocean, whose memory you will treasure forever!
